In an article published on 3/31 in Commercial Construction & Renovation Magazine, Matern Professional Engineering shares the promotion of Robert "RJ" Johnson and Olivia Byrd, to Project Manager in the Education Division. The two have taken on leadership roles supporting K12 and higher education clients, reinforcing Matern’s commitment to strong project outcomes.
Johnson has 20 years of electrical systems design experience, including 11 years at Matern, with expertise in lighting, lightning protection, and power distribution. Byrd is a registered Engineer-in-Training with 7 years of electrical engineering experience, and is working toward her Professional Engineer license. Both project managers are experienced in design guidelines used by Florida school districts and have supported clients, including Orange County Public Schools and Seminole County Public Schools.
“RJ and Olivia had increased project management duties for the majority of 2025, and these promotions are well-deserved,” said Matern Professional Engineering HR Manager Stephen Pearson. “These promotions acknowledge their continued design and project leadership for the Education Division and the clients we serve.”
