September 6, 2023 - An article published in Engineering News-Record announced that Matern Professional Engineering has completed work on the Orlando International Airport’s Brightline station, allowing passengers on the high-speed rail network to directly access the airport. Millions of passengers will use this rail-air travel connection at the rapidly growing MCO airport. Matern’s work entailed integrating the rail network directly into the airport’s infrastructure in cooperation with Borrelli + Partners

The 37,350-square-foot station is situated inside the airport’s new Terminal C extension. The 80,000-square-foot extension connects directly to Orlando International Airport’s parking deck C.

“The project required consistent communication with manufacturers to make custom elements for the design as well as engineering components that will properly augment the airport’s existing electrical, HVAC, and sanitation systems,” the article noted.
